db.c - college

i have (hopefully possible) big plans for college. currently i'm doing very well off school-wise, lot's of extracurriculars, community work, leadership positions, very high grades for my year level and age as well as difficult classes. i'd like to attend umich for some form of engineering, however i'm not exactly sure which type. the one that has always stuck out to me was mechanical engineering, but getting information on what jobs are like for each kind is completely beyond me. my father is considered (by the state of ohio) a severely disabled veteran and we are in a program that allows for around 80-90% off tuition per semester depending on the enrollment rate of the program. as great as that is, it hurt me a lot to hear from my parents they never set up any college fund in case i had wanted to go out of state, so chances are no matter how hard I try I'll be in state.

list of colleges i'd like to attend (not including safety schools)

• university of michigan (out of state, high tuition)
• the ohio state university (in state, low tuition with program, kind of one of my safety schools (cocky))
• any ivy league oh my goodness (mit is the coolest, out of state, lifetime debt)
• georgia institute of technology (out of state, don't know about tuition)
• purdue university (out of state)
• univeristy of illinois at urbana-champaign (lowkey i know nothing about this place, out of state)
• california institute of technology (out of state)
• university of california, berkeley (out of state, these guys got an element named after them though that's sick)
• case western reserve university (in state, i think it's more of a law school though)

whichever one i go to i'll be a fan of their sports but also go dawgs #uga
